This has never happened before in the open era. thoughus?????

I'm with you Anna, I wouldn't have thought that this was the first time in 41 years, but I was also really surprised by the fact that the top 8 players have only made the quarterfinals once in the open era (In Cincinnati or Montreal), and I found it kind of funny that of all of the players to drop a set, 2 of the big 3 did it.....I think the seeds will start getting hit as soon as the 3rd round especially since Roger has dropped the first set against Lleyton (GASP) and Novak is down in the tiebreak against Jessie Witten, so clearly they are vulnerable today...and from the other question, I guess I want Maria to win since Melanie is only 17 and probably already content with her results, but I will be very happy to know that at least one of them will be into the 4th round!
