My friend likes the same guy!!?

My friend and i currently like the same guy and now she's mad at me. At school her and her friends told me that he liked me then i started tol ike him too. She said that he hated me. Do you think he really hates me or is she just saying that to just have him herself? He keeps looking at me at school. Do you think he likes me?
