Lasagna 101?

Happy Halloween all!!! What should I put in my lasagna tonite? I was thinking, sauce, mozz. cheese, ricotta and ground beef or and pepperoni(turkey pepp., i'm thinking) Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to make it superb? Thank you!
