Do phone decals damage phones?

i was looking at cases for my new blackberry curve, i already have a clear one that i was given from t-mobile and i am loving to pieces, but i saw some really cute decals (thye're like stickers for your your phone instead of a cover) and i was wondering if they damage your phone. i've seen them for ipods and other electronics but i dont know anyone who's used them
