Can Chemotherapy kill a level 2 of cancer?

My gf, shes 16 and she has cancer. She just had her "second" cancer surgery .Today she just got results of the cancer and its a level 2...her doctor have told her to get chemoteraphy and shes really scared. She saw how her mom went through it and saw how chemo killed her. I really dont know what to do...should she go through chemo or not. Right now im far from her shes in cali and i cant do nothing that im far...she only has her grandma...i need some suggestions...some advices...i dont wanna lose her. HELP!
